In Depth Workshop

About Chad
After over 40 years of study and practice with many, many, many teachers, I’m still amazed at the depth of the journey.

I teach from a place where there’s a journey open to all, called life. Yoga helps us to be more open and present in our journey. I teach to simplify and to hopefully inspire each student to be open to their own journey, open to both the struggles and the joys, and to find a place of deep gratitude instead of perfection.

I don’t really have a style, I have a practice, and it becomes intuitively presented through the teaching or sharing. One doesn’t really teach someone something; the art is to create a circumstance that they get. That’s the joy, a connection to something deeper that they have found.

The Workshop – 4 Moduls

Saturday, September 9th
9 – 12 am

1. We have to stand our ground.
Standing poses are meant to be grounding and opening. Our earth element is in the muladara Chakra , the pelvic area, and represents our right to be, to stand our ground. But this requires a certain skill and emotional willingness to energetically free blocked areas. Standing poses can also be fun when seen as opportunities to explore arm balances , etc. So let’s see how far we can go and create some interesting moments for ourselves.

2 – 5 pm

2. Easy twists, forward bends and hip openers.
These could be considered as winding down poses or counter poses to other poses, but they can also be very challenging if done as standing poses or inverted moments. So let’s start simple and see where we go.

Sunday, September 10th
9 – 12 am

3. How do shoulder openers get you in touch with your inner self???
Any posture done with awareness and skill can bring you to an integrated moment within yourself, a wholeness, a stillness. Let’s see how we can approach this idea and have a moment. We’ll play with a variety of poses, working with alignment and breath, to take us on an inward journey.

2 – 5 pm

4. What do you hope to gain from doing backbends?
Some people are addicted to backbends, some people avoid them , some people are indifferent and only do them when they are asked to do so. Let’s look at why these are an important part of your practice and find a simple path to understanding and benefitting from this group of asanas. Take your practice seriously enough to have fun with it.
